Study Abroad

Bard College offers a number of study abroad opportunities for students. While some programs have a strong focus on basic language acquisition coupled with an intensive program abroad, other programs allow exploration in advanced liberal arts courses through affiliated or independent institutions.

Overview


Bard affiliated programs for students in the German Studies Department include the German Summer Language Intensive at Bard College Berlin, and Junior Year Abroad at Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany.

All Bard students are encouraged to consider the opportunity to study for a semester, a summer or a whole year or more at Bard College, Berlin. Although all course there are taught in English, BCB offers also German Studies majors numerous ways to live and study in Berlin, while doing research in their chosen joined major.

Pre-Trip Requirements: In order to study abroad and receive full credit, students must submit a Petition for Study Abroad, which must be approved by the student’s academic advisor, the Study Abroad Adviser, and the Dean of Studies; full info here
